What the work is actually like

Most of our work happens inside someone else's business, on their premises or in their systems, with their team watching. It is closer to operating than to consulting. People who enjoy it tend to be the sort who would rather fix the process than write the report about the process.

The technology bias is real. Whatever your discipline, you will spend part of your time deciding whether a system, an automation or a model genuinely helps here — and being willing to conclude that it does not.

What we look for

• Experience of having actually delivered something, not only advised on it
• Comfort being the person accountable in a room where you are the outsider
• A habit of checking a number before repeating it
• The willingness to tell a client something they do not want to hear, early, in plain words

How to approach us

Write to [email protected] with a short note about what you have done and what you would want to do here. A specific example of something you delivered end to end is worth more than a full CV, though send that too.

We also work with independent specialists and partner firms on individual engagements. If that is you, say so — it is a different conversation and often a faster one.

Whether there is anything now, and if not, whether it is worth staying in touch. We would rather say no clearly than leave an application unanswered.
